K9 Resorts is a luxury pet hotel offering premium dog care, luxury accommodations and peace of mind to dog owners… and they’re coming soon to the Turnersville section of Washington Township.
For several years now K9 Resorts has operated a location in Cherry Hill, and with their expansion into Gloucester County they are taking over a free-standing building in the Plaza 42 shopping center (Kohl’s) Which positions them at the very front of the center directly next to the Black Horse Pike.
Most would know the building as being home to the seasonal Spirit Halloween, and for a few short years it was a Sears Appliance and Fitness store.
I think it’s an excellent location with awesome visibility the the highly traveled road, but for most of the last 17 years the building has not really been utilized much… Making it an excellent new tenant for Plaza 42 and Washington Township.
I chatted today with the team from MSC Realty who confirmed that the lease is signed and K9 Resorts is working with Washington Township to finalize all necessary approvals.
Construction is expected to start sometime later this year, with an opening in 2026.

The team has really found a successful business model that keeps customers coming back, as their 2024 results show they have 170 locations opened or in development!
K9 Resorts offers a a variety of boarding options including pet size suites that are cage free and extra comfortable! There are a variety of boarding space size options and pricing.
Boarding options also include all day group play or individual play time with the staff!
Each of the K9 Resort locations offers a top of the line PetAirapy UV air purification and ventilation systems, as well as hospital grade sanitation procedures which includes Microban antimicrobial protection.
K9 Resorts even offers a fully computerized and reliable reservation system!
The design of the interior spaces are also done to make your pet feel as comfortable as possible with separate zones to reduce the number of dog guests that can occupy one area at a time… this means if you choose to have your pet engaged in socialization activities, they’re not overwhelmed with a large number of dogs.
As mentioned an opening date is not locked in just yet but construction is expected to start before the end of 2025.
