Mass. woman with ties to Brentwood charged with two counts of animal cruelty, police say

A Massachusetts woman is charged with animal cruelty after a video of alleged abuse circulated online. The investigation into Maddison Eastman, 26, began in New Hampshire when the person who reported the video thought it was taken at a dog training facility in Brentwood.As the investigation progressed, it led investigators to Methuen, Massachusetts, where they say the video was allegedly taken.”While the Brentwood Police Department does not condone or support any form of animal cruelty or abusive behavior, our authority is limited to incidents occurring within the Town of Brentwood,” the Brentwood Police Department said in a statement on social media. “As a result, the complete investigation, along with all relevant information, has been forwarded to the appropriate law enforcement agency that has jurisdiction over the location where the incident occurred. That agency will be responsible for any further investigation or enforcement action.” Brentwood investigators said they turned everything over to the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and the Methuen Police Department.Authorities say she owns a dog training and kennel facility in Brentwood. Eastman eventually turned herself into police and was arraigned shortly after.She is charged with two counts of animal cruelty.
