Running a farm in Zephyr Town takes a lot of work, and Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar lets you adopt multiple pets that can help take care of the ranch alongside you. From adorable cats to dependable puppies, each one can make your farm a better place.
We’ll help break down how you can best take care of your pets, as well as where you can get more if you need them to take care of your farm. It’s easier than you’d think, but it takes some effort to get everything running smoothly. Here’s all you need to know about pets in Zephyr Town!
How To Get Pets
As you progress into the summer season, you’ll be visited by Ramon and informed of the Animal Show. From there, you’ll get to pick between a cat or dog as your first free pet, but the rest must be purchased later.
Pets can only be purchased at the Bazaar on Saturdays from Ramon’s Critters stall in the northwest. They range from 5,000G to 10,000G, and you can own up to four cats and four dogs. The stock Ramon has changes each week, so don’t feel like you have to make a purchase if you don’t like the pets available.
All pets have the same functions, so the appearance is purely aesthetic.

Pets can be fed with Pet Food at the bowl in the lower right corner of your home, next to the indoor entrance to the barn. Each bowl can hold multiple servings, so make sure to fill is up often so your pets don’t go hungry.
How To Train Pets
Pets can be trained to do tricks using Pet Treats, but they can only be trained once a day. To do this, hold a Pet Treat in your inventory, then walk up to the desired dog or cat to give it to them (like a gift). Once you do, you’ll enter the training menu.
In this little minigame, you get to hit different inputs to do specific tricks! Each one will help you earn more points towards your pet’s training level, up to five points per day. These are the same tricks that will be required at the Animal Shows, so it’s good practice.
If you’re playing on PC, note that the WASD controls and arrow keys are not interchangeable.
Additionally, as you feed and pet your furry friends, you’ll notice your heart level with them increasing. The higher your heart level, the more your pets can help out on the farm. Cats help herd chickens in and out of the barn during the day, allowing the birds to graze in peace. Dogs, however, will herd all other barn animals out and about.
Having numerous pets of each type is the best way to make sure that your livestock and chickens are able to freely grze without getting forgotten outside in the middle of the night.
